Η νέα διπλή κυκλοφορία στην Amniote Editions της Mama Snake.
Η Amniote Editions είναι ένα πολυδιάστατο κανάλι μέσων που δημιουργήθηκε το 2019 από την Rose Marie Johansen, καλλιτέχνη με έδρα το Los Angeles και την Mama Snake, DJ με έδρα την Κοπεγχάγη, ώστε να χρησιμεύσει σαν πλατφόρμα για διαφορετικό δημιουργικό περιεχόμενο που θα συνοδεύει την μουσική, μιας κι αυτή κυκλοφορεί σε «κάψουλες». Η DCX είναι λοιπόν η επόμενη και έχει προγραμματιστεί για τις 2 Οκτωβρίου, στην οποία συμμετέχει αρχικά ο Αυστραλός Tred ως Moloch Horridus για το EP “Self Guard” (DCX-4) σε 12″ βινύλιο και ψηφιακή μορφή. Το πακέτο περιλαμβάνει και ένα συνεργατικό single από τους παραγωγούς Yuri και Internazionale ως Parietal Eye από την Κοπεγχάγη με τον Cantil (DCX-6) και θα κυκλοφορήσει αποκλειστικά στο Bandcamp, περιλαμβάνοντας κι ένα custom mesh γραφιστικό. Το artwork το έχει φανταστεί και σχεδιάσει η art director και συνιδρύτρια Rose Marie Johansen.
Το label
Η ιδέα κρύβεται στην αμφισβήτηση του τρόπου που παρουσιάζεται ο ήχος και αυτό χρησιμεύει ως διέξοδος για ποικιλία δημιουργικών ιδεών από τις ιδρύτριες και τις συνεργασίες τους. Το project ξεκίνησε με το “HoxA“, ένα bundle αποτελούμενο από 3 μέρη τον Απρίλιο του 2019, που περιελάμβανε ένα techno 12” EP, ένα βίντεο και ένα ambient album σε USB. Από τότε έχει κυκλοφορήσει τις «κάψουλες» HoxD, ZRS και μια συνεργατική παρουσίαση για το ντεμπούτο της Ιρανής, κάτοικου Νέας Υόρκης, Kris Esfandiari και το “NGHTCRWLR“. Όλοι οι παραγωγοί που συμμετέχουν δημιουργούν ένα ψευδώνυμο για χάρη του project και ανάμεσα σε αυτούς, βρίσκονται οι Hadone (Mehen), D.Dan (Sidewinder), Celestial Trax (Sisilisko), Julian Muller (Atheris) και Yuri (Parietal Eye). Επιπλέον, στην Amniote Editions συμπεριλαμβάνεται έργο από το graphic design studio Alexis Mark, τον προγραμματιστή Andreas Øby και της animator Maja Brøgger με την λίστα συνεχώς να μεγαλώνει με κάθε «κάψουλα» και την πλατφόρμα να επεκτείνεται ασταμάτητα σε νέα, προσεχώς, μονοπάτια.
Η κυκλοφορία
Οι δύο DCX κυκλοφορίες θα έχουν ως βάση το beat σε μια tripped out ατμόσφαιρα. Ο Moloch Horridus κάνει ντεμπούτο με 4 όμορφες δημιουργίες, electro προσανατολισμού και κυμαίνεται γενικά ως EP από επιθετικά και αδιάλλακτα χτυπήματα σε πιο απορροφημένες διαθέσεις. Οι Parietal Eye θα ενώσουν τις δυνάμεις τους με τον Cantil για δύο διαφορετικές «απόψεις» του “Final Destination” ή καλύτερα, εξερευνήσεις σε hi-tech, επιστημονικής φαντασίας ηχοτόπια με ταχύ και ορμητικό drum programming. Οι προ-παραγγελίες για τα album έχουν ξεκινήσει στο Bandcamp και υπάρχει διαθέσιμο preview μέσα από το Soundcloud παρακάτω:
The new double release on Mama Snake’s label Amniote Editions.
Amniote Editions is a mixed media channel established in 2019 by LA-based artist Rose Marie Johansen and Copenhagen based DJ Mama Snake, to serve as platform for different creative content to accompany the music as the main output always released as capsules. The next capsule is DCX out October 2nd, featuring Australian artist Tred as Moloch Horridus to release Self Guard EP (DCX-4) on vinyl 12″ and digital formats. The bundle release also includes a collaborative single by Copenhagen producers Yuri and Internazionale as Parietal Eye and Cantil respectively with two versions of “Final Destination” (DCX-6) out digitally exclusive on Bandcamp and including a custom print on mesh. The artwork is designed and imagined by Amniote household art director and co-founder Rose Marie Johansen.
The label
The ethos is to challenge ways of presenting sound and serving as an outlet for various creative ideas of the founders and collaborative efforts. The project launched with a 3-part bundle “HoxA” in April 2019 containing a techno EP 12″, a video and an ambient album on USB and has since released the capsules HoxD, ZRS and a collaborative presentation of the debut album of Iranian born, New York-based artist Kris Esfandiari launching “NGHTCRWLR“. All participating producers create new aliases for the project – with contributions by Hadone (as Mehen), D.Dan (as Sidewinder), Celestial Trax (as Sisilisko), Julian Muller (as Atheris) and Yuri (as Parietal Eye) to name a few of the first amniotes joining the platform. Furthermore, Amniote Editions features work by graphic design studio Alexis Mark, programmer Andreas Øby and animator Maja Brøgger with the list growing by each new capsule and the platform forever expanding into new, soon to be revealed, territories.
The release
Amniote Editions readies the DCX capsule with two beat-oriented releases focused on tripped-out atmospheric sounds. Moloch Horridus debuts with four beautiful cuts of electro belters spanning from straight-in-your-face-no-bullshit stompers to more meditative moods. Parietal Eye returns in collaboration with Cantil for two versions of Final Destination – explorations of sizzling hi-tek sci-fi soundscapes and turbo-driven drum programming.
